Giant Cell Tumor

This 32 year-old patient had a "giant cell tumor" of the left, third toe.  Giant cell tumors are aggressive, benign (non-cancerous) bone tumors that usually occur in patients age 20-40.  The tumors are rare and occur in 1 out of 1 million people per year.  Giant cell tumors rapidly invade the bone and must be removed by surgery.1,2,3,4
